Para mi pensar en la India, es pensar en una sobre carga de color y texturas.

He probado un poco de comida india y me parecen fascinantes los sabores. En general son un poco alejados al tipo de sabor al que estamos acostumbrados como guatemaltecos, sin embargo creo que me llaman tanto la atención precisamente por eso, por lo diferente que siento en mi paladar.

Encontramos este lugar llamado Bollywood Theater, que es un mercado y restaurante indio. Propuse que fuéramos con mi familia y ellos estuvieron dispuestos a ir por esta aventura.

Cuando entras al lugar es super colorido, con miles de detalles para perder la vista.

Cuando vi todas las opciones era un poco dificil elegir por que la verdad no tenia idea de que eran los platos.

Decidimos compartir dos platos con mi mamá y lo elegido fue un Vindaloo de Cerdo que es cerdo condimentado con chile, ajo y vinagre, servido con unos panitos y el otro plato fue un curry de pollo.

Mi favorito fue el Vindaloo de Cerdo, a pesar que picaba un poco estaba delicioso y el panito estaba tan rico, creo que era inevitable por que venían con mantequilla.

Mi hermana que es vegana también pudo comer sin ningún problema, ella comió una tortilla hecha con lentejas que estaba muy buena.

La visita a este lugar, me hizo querer seguir explorando y educarme en esta cultura, por que tienen propuestas gastronomicas tan interesantes que no pueden pasar desapercibidas.

For me thinking about India, it's a overdose of color and textures.

I had tasted a little of Indian food and I think it's fascinating. In general the flavors are very different from the kind of flavors that are used in Guatemala, however I believe that this is the exact reason why it attracts me.

We found this place called Bollywood Theater, it’s a store and a restaurant. I suggested the option, and my family agreed to go on this adventure.

When you walk in the place is full of color, with a million of details that make it easy to get lost in the beauty.

When I saw all the options it was difficult to choose, because to say the truth I didn't have a clue of what they were.

We decided to share two plates with my mom, and we chose a Pork Vindaloo. This plate is a Portuguese influenced dish from Goa. It's pork braised with red chiles, garlic and vinegar, served with buttered rolls. The other option was a Chicken Curry, that came with saffron rice.

My favorite even it was a little bit spicy was the Pork Vindaloo, the buttered rolls were perfect, and this is obvious because they had butter.

My sister is vegan, and she could eat without a problem, she choose a vegan curry option that came with a lentil tortilla, that was really good.

The visit to this place, makes me want to keep exploring and educating myself on this culture, because they have many gastronomic options so rich that can't be out of sight.
