Cuando estas de viaje hay tantas opciones para comer, que yo por lo general trato de ir preparada con los lugares que quiero visitar, para poder aprovechar mejor cada una de las oportunidades que tengo para comer fuera.
Pero tengo la fortuna de conocer a personas que saben del buen comer y yo llegue a Eno, gracias a la recomendación de Andrés Rivera, un restaurantero en Guatemala que definitivamente sabe de lo que esta hablado.
El me recomendó Eno y La Docena Romana. Lamentablemente solo me dio tiempo de visitar Eno, pero espero regresar en el futuro a la Ciudad de México para visitar la Docena Romana.

Eno tiene diferentes ubicaciones, y la que yo visite, tuve la fortuna de que tenía mesas en el exterior y además había una banda de jazz tocando en vivo.
Cuando vi la carta, supe que quería comer una torta, especialmente por que para los que crecimos viendo El Chavo del Ocho díganme si no se les antojaba la torta de jamón que el Chavo tanto deseaba.
Entre las opciones de torta yo elegí la de pechuga de pavo, queso panela, aguacate y jitomate.
Mi estrategia para no salirme de control en este viaje, fue pedir en algunos restaurantes la opción más saludable que había y en el caso de esta torta, no me comí todo el pan. Al final hay que tratar de vivir en equilibrio.
Tienen que saber que la panadería de Eno es increíble, el sabor del pan de la torta, estaba muy bueno y además tenía la textura correcta. Era firme pero también suave en su interior.
La cantidad de ingredientes era suficiente como para saborear cada uno de ellos. Y la mezcla de panela con aguacate siempre es una de mis favoritas.
Estar en un lugar como Eno te recuerda que estas en una ciudad cosmopolita, capaz de ofrecerte platos sencillos pero muy bien ejecutados en pequeños espacios llenos de espíritu.
When you are on a trip, there are so many options to eat, so I usually get prepared making my research about the places that I want to visit, so I can make the must of the opportunities that I have to eat at restaurants.
But I’m also lucky enough to know people that know about eating and that’s how I got to Eno, thanks to the recommendation of Andres Rivera, a restauranteur in Guatemala that he definitely knows what he is talking about.
He gave me the recommendation of Eno and La Docena Romana. Unfortunately I only had time to visit Eno, but I hope I could come back to Mexico City in the future so I could visit La Docena Romana.

Eno has different locations, I was lucky enough to go to that location because it had outside tables and there was a jazz band playing.
When I checked the menu, I knew that I wanted to eat a torta, specially because the ones that grew up, watching the show “El Chavo del Ocho”, tell me if you didn’t crave a ham torta that the Chavo was always craving.
Between the tortas options I chose the turkey ham with panela cheese, avocado and green tomatoes.
My strategy for this trip for not loose control, was to order some healthy options in some of the restaurants, in the case of Eno for example I didn’t eat the entire bread. At the end we should always try to live a balanced life.
You have to know that the bakery of Eno is incredible, the flavor of the torta bread was great, and the texture was the right one, it was firm on the outside but fluffy in the inside.
The amount of ingredientes was enough to taste each one of them. The mix of the panela cheese and the avocado is one of my favorites.
Being in a place like Eno reminds you that you are in a cosmopolitan city, that can offer you simple meal but with an excellent execution in spaces full of spirit.
