De Mil Flores es un pequeño café ubicado en zona 14, en dónde puedes tomar un café mientras trabajas o puede ser también el lugar perfecto para una tarde de amigas.

Desde la primera vez que lo conocí, me pareció super encantador, de esos lugares en dónde podrías encontrar cualquier excusa para ir a tomar un café.

Para compartir este lugar, hable con mi amiga Marta Regina para que nos pusiéramos al día y compartiéramos un tiempo juntas.

Al revisar el menú a mi se me antojo el Mediterranean Bowl, que traía hummus, tabbouleh, tzatziki, pollo y pan pita.

Cuando llego mi plato, estaba servido de una forma tan linda. Fue de esos platos en dónde quiero tomarle tantas fotos como sea posible antes de meter el tenedor por primera vez.

El tabbouleh tenía la cantidad de limón exacta, super delicioso, el pollo estaba cocido a la perfección y jugoso, y que les puedo decir del hummus que es de mis favoritos, me encanto que podría pedir en otra ocasión un plato entero sólo con hummus y pita.

La comida y la platica estaba tan buena que no podíamos irnos sin el postre, así que para compartir pedimos un Matcha Lava Cake.

El Lava Cake, tiene la particularidad que al centro, es un pastel húmedo, da la impresión que no estuviera totalmente cocido.

Este Lava Cake tenia una combinación perfecta entre matcha y vainilla, venía acompañado con una bola de helado de vainilla. Les digo que estaba tan bueno que si hubiera sido mi cheat meal, me hubiera comido un postre yo solita.

Para tomar pedimos unos capuchinos con cardamomo. Les puedo asegurar que De Mil Flores tiene también excelente café, por si quieren pasar por ahí solo a tomar algo. Tienen un capuchino de lavanda que no lo encuentran en otro lugar.

Since the first time that I went to this place, I thought it was absolutely charming, is one of those places where you could find any excuse to have a cup of coffee there. 

To share this place, I talked with my friend Marta Regina, because we needed to catch up and we like to hang out. 

When I looked at the menu, I knew that I wanted to order a Mediterranean Bowl, that had hummus, tabbouleh, tzatziki, chicken and flat bread. 

I saw my plate and it was served in such a cute way, that I took all the pictures that I could before introducing my fork on it. 

 The tabbouleh had the exact amount of lemon, super delicious, the chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy, what can I say about the hummus, is one of my favorites foods, I love it, I could actually order next time just a plate of hummus with flat bread.  

The food and the talking were so delightful that we didn't want to leave, so we ordered a dessert. The Matcha Lava Cake. 

Lava Cake, has this particularity, that has a wet center, it seams like it wasn't well baked.

This Lava caked had the perfect match between matcha and vanilla, it came with a vanilla ice cream ball. I admit that if it had been my cheat meal, I could had order a Lava Cake just for me. 

To drink we had cappuccino with cardamom. I can assure you that De Mil Flores serves an excellent coffee, if you are making an excuse to visit for something to drink. They also have a lavender cappuccino that you can't find in other place. 

Just girls

Con lo complejo que se vuelve el día a día, muchas veces es dificultoso vernos con mi mejor amiga. Lo que procuramos hacer, es tener una llamada todos los días, sin embargo la interacción uno a uno siempre es necesaria.

Teníamos cerca de dos meses sin vernos, así que decidimos planificar un almuerzo juntas.

Decidimos ir a Tamarindos Bistro y compartir dos platos para comer cosas diferentes.

Algunos datos de Tamarindos:

• Ambiente: sofisticado y un poco elegante
• Parqueo: El restaurante esta ubicado dentro de Plaza Fontabella, por lo que cuenta con parqueo.
• Servicio al Cliente: Bueno
• Menú: Bastante variado, desde ensaladas, pastas, sandwiches y carnes.
• Precio: $$

Aprovechamos la promoción de 2x1 que tenía el restaurante y decidimos compartir dos platos. El primero fue una ensalada Thai con Lomito y una Hamburguesa.

La ensalada Thai, tenia un aderezo ligeramente picante, estilo vinagreta. Er mezcla de lechugas, pepino, tomate, ajonjolí y zanahoria. La combinación de texturas es perfecta y lo fresco de los ingredientes la hace una excelente opción para los días calurosos.

La hamburguesa, traía una tortita super jugosa, llena de sabor, acompañada con aguacate y queso cheddar. Otra ventaja es que como acompañamiento puedes cambiar las papas fritas, por papas de camote frito que para mi son mucho más deliciosas.

Tamarindos Bistro es un excelente lugar para tener una comida deliciosa y poder platicar. El lugar es bastante cómodo y la música tiene el volumen exacto para poder tener una platica amena.

The complexity of the daily life makes it so difficult to hang out with my best friend. What we try is to talk every day, however see to see each other it's necessary. 

We had almost two months without seeing each other, so we decided to have lunch together.

The restaurant that we chose was Tamarindos Bistro, and we ordered two different plates to share and try different things. 

Some Facts of Tamarindos Bistro:

• Ambience: sophisticated and elegant
• Parking:They are located in Fontabella so there is enough parking in the plaza.
• Customer Service: Good
• Menu: Variety of food, from salads, pasta, sandwiches and different meats.
• Price: $$

There was a promo with the card club BI, where we could  have 2 plates for the price of 1, so we decided to share two plates. The first one was the Thai Salad with Tenderloin and a Hamburger. 

The Thai salad, had a dressing a little bit spicy, like a vinaigrette. It was a mix of lettuce, cucumber, tomato, carrot and sesame. The combination of texture was perfect, the freshness of the ingredients makes it a good option for sunny days. 

The Burger, came with a patty super juicy, full of flavor, it had avocado and cheddar cheese on it. The burger came with french fries, but you can switch it to sweet potato fries, in my opinion those are much better. 

Tamarindos Bistro it's an excellent place to have a delicious meal and a good chat. The place is super comfy and the music has the perfect volume to talk.

A new romance

Todo empezó porque ese sábado en particular debía ir a tomar unas fotos a las 2pm y necesitaba un lugar para almorzar.

Al estar en un centro comercial, la opción más obvia era dirigirme al food court,  sin embargo, no queria comer sola, entonces dentro de las opciones más saludables de restaurantes que encuentras en Oakland Mall está McCafé Bistro.

Había comido en este lugar hace como 8 años, sin exagerar, y no me habia impresionado, por esa razón es que en todo este tiempo no había vuelto. Sin embargo decidí darle una oportunidad después de todo este tiempo.

El concepto es la union de un McCafé en dónde te ofrecen cafés y tés más sandwiches, sopas y ensaladas.

Al ojear el menu, mi decision fue media ensalada Cobb más un sandwich Toscana con pan integral.

Primero la ensalada, venia una porción bastante aceptable, el tocino estaba crujiente y la mejor parte fue el aderezo. Generalmente si pides una ensalada pero eliges mal el aderezo te va dar lo mismo por que esté podría añadir demasiadas calorías. Así que para mi ensalada pedí un aderezo de yogurt, como ya tenia un poco de tocino, no quería empeorar las cosas. La textura del aderezo era densa y cremosa y tenia un poco de menta, entonces hacia que tuviera esta nota fresca en cada bocado que combinaba perfecto con la textura crocante de las lechugas y el tocino.

El pan Toscana, lo pedí con pan integral que tenia semillas de pepitoria por encima, venia acompañado de tomates salteados y muchísimo queso, el acompañamiento de mi sandwich eran chips luas que son de malanga, yuca y platano. Como bebida puedes elegir gaseosa o un café, y yo por supuesto pedí un cappuccino el cuál me lo llevaron hasta terminar por que así lo pedí.

Las personas que me conocen, pueden dar fe que, para mi el servicio es sumamente importante, la comida puede estar deliciosa, pero si el servicio es malo, arruina completamente mi experiencia. El día que visite este lugar, la mesera se llamaba Johanna, y su atención su increíble, realmente regresaría más por ella. Era la única mesera y estaba atendiendo todas las mesas con la mayor velocidad que podia, pero lo mejor es que siempre tuvo una buena actitud super servicial. Así que realmente ya no era muy fan de McDonalds, pero este almuerzo me hizo cambiar de opinion, me gusto tanto que pensé que por primera vez realmente quisiera trabajar algunas fotos de comida de su menú.

It all started because this particular Saturday a had a photo shoot at 2pm and I needed it to have lunch.

Being in a mall, the first obvious option was going to the food court, however, I didn’t want to eat by myself in the middle of the food court, so I checked all my restaurant options. At Oakland mall you can find McCafe Bistro.

The concept of McCafe Bistro is, the regular McCafé plus, sandwiches, soups and salads.

Checking the menu my decision was a value lunch with Cobb Salad and the Toscana sandwich.

First the salad, the portion was acceptable, with crunchy bacon and the best part was the dressing. Commonly if you order a salad, but you choose the wrong dressing, it will cause the same effect of eating something fatty, because of all the calories of it. So for my salad I ordered a yogurt dressing, because I already had bacon and didn’t want to make things worst. The texture of the dressing was dense and creamy and had some hints of mint. So I can felt the freshness on each bite, combined with the crunchy texture of the lettuce and bacon.

The Toscana sandwich, came with whole wheat bread, with pumpkin seeds on it. It has roasted tomatoes and enough cheese. The chips were Luas, that are made of malanga, green banana and yucca. To drink you can choose between a soda or coffee, and of course I ordered a cappuccino with skim milk. Which I asked to bring me at the end.

The people who knows me, can confirm that for my the service is really important, I can go and eat something delicious but if they deliver a bad costumer service, they ruined my whole experience. The day that I visited this place, the waitress´ name was Johanna, and her attention was spectacular, I definitely will come back because of her. She was the only waitress, for the whole Bistro, and she was attending us as fast as she could, but always with a good attitude. So I can tell you, I wasn´t a really McDonalds Fan, but this lunch made me change my perception, to the point of thinking that I will like in the future make some pictures of their menu.

Big Sister

I am the oldest of three siblings and I have to confess that a part of me would´ve liked to have a big sister. But fortunately I have my friend Sheny whom I´ve known for about 15 years, and in so many ways I feel her friendship and love like the one you would feel from a big sister.

Since she is a married woman and mom, sometimes catching up with her is a little difficult because of her activities, but we make an effort to at eat catch up once a year.

For this time we went to have breakfast in Tamarindos Bistro and we wanted to eat savory and sweet so we ordered Benedict eggs with hollandaise sauce. It was incredible, and the poached eggs were on point, plus the plate came with a baked hash brown that makes it less fatty.

The sweet thing that we ordered was a chocolate waffle, that was delicious.

If you want to have a great breakfast and excellent service visit Tamarindos Bistro you won´t regret it.

Soy la herman mayor de tres hermanos y tengo que confesar que una parte de mi siempre quiso tener una hermana mayor. Pero afortunadamente tengo la amistad de mi amiga Sheny, a quien conozco hace 15 años y en muchas formas siento que su amistad y amor como el de una hermana mayor.

Como ella esta casada, y es mamá, muchas veces ponernos al día resulta un poco complicado por sus multiples actividades, pero hacemos el esfuerzo por vernos al menos una vez al año.

En esta ocasión decidimos ir a desayunar a Tamarindos Bistro y como teníamos ganas de comer dulce y salado, ordenamos huevos Benedictinos con salsa Holandesa, estaban increíbles y los huevos en su punto además que traía un hash brown horneado que lo hacia menos grasoso.

Lo dulce que ordenamos fue un wafle de chocolate que estaba riquísimo.

Si quieren tener un desayuno increíble con un excelente servicio, deben visitar Tamarindos Bistro, no se van arrepentir.
